I have been using 89 Octane Gasoline ever since I bought it. Gas prices in San Jose, CA are $3.39/gal for 89 right now and I only get about 200 miles per tank! Would it be okay for me to switch to 87? Will that cause any knocking or pinging from the engine and will mileage be the same as the 89 octane? Any input would help.
