Ive got Norton on my computer and never noticed <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Using Opera here on both Linux and Windows and never noticed a problem. I only use IE when I have to... Emergency server upgrades suck. I've been there more than once, I love my job <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

In the interim, we suggest you update and/or install antispyware and anti-adware software on your PC; strengthen your browser security (or get an alternative to IE).

Agreed!

Personally, I have experienced ZERO problems throughout this situationà

--- No Pop-ups
--- No redirected pages
--- No service outages
--- Nadda

àand I believe my uninterrupted service here at 4x4Wire can be attributed to the use of following software:

Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3 web browser
- Free download at Mozilla.com:
[color:"blue"]http://www.mozilla.com/

Javacool Spyware Blaster 3.5.1 (w/ enhanced Mozilla Firefox protection)
û Free download at Javacoolsoftware.com:
[color:"blue"]http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Grisoft AVG 7.1.375 anti-virus
û Free download at C/netÆs Download.com:
[color:"blue"]http://www....dition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

* Download and install at your own discretion
* This is NOT an endorsement
* I have absolutely no affiliation with any of the above entities
* Your mileage may vary

[color:"darkred"]UPDATE:

I stand corrected...
As it turns out, upon each page-load, I am seeing an ATTEMPT to redirect me to a couple of other sites û however, this doesnÆt seem to prevent me from viewing anything, or deter my ability to navigate around 4x4Wire like normal.

Cheers! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Roll Me Over
I am running a vanilla XP Home Edition with a fully patched IE 6 and MS Windows Defender, their new anti-spyware software.

I experienced some timeouts when we were first hacked, but no problems since.

Whether you are experiencing problems or not, I suspect that you are being redirected to free20.com and back very quickly.

If you Google free20.com, you will find that it is a pay for click scam. Since the hack is to the server software, you really can't avoid it.

Your various security software may be preventing you from adverse effects from some of the sites through which you are being directed.

Yes, PC or Mac, just because you didn't notice doesn't mean you weren't being played. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

but consider how many viruses there are for pc's and how many there are for macs. there really isnt even a need to run virus protection software b/c the threat is so small. i believe less than 1% of all viruses are encoded for macs but correct me if im wrong.

You know you're in for a rough night at sea when the barometer does this:

No point/fun in hacking MAC. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> There aren't enough out there. It wouldn't be worth it for a hack. It wouldn't get the same affect bringing down, lets say 1000 MACs or 100,000 regular Windows based machines. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> PLUS, departments within corporations that use MACs don't use them for anything that deals with people's personal information. Big corps only use them for their Marketing departments. Atleast that's how it is here at the bank I work at and the other banks I have worked for.
