Some great input here so far.

Went and messed around with the rig today. CV boots not cracked (common up here in the cold). Got a couple rock dings in the windshield my glass guy can take care of for about $40; might wait til the end of the summer to take care of, as I've got an intersection to go thru that's started construction for the summer (ZERO detour).

After a bit of confusion, we found the jack kit to be stowed under the rear pax seat, but can't get the darned cushions up; there a trick? We fooled with it quite a bit, and couldn't get the buggers up. Had the owner's manual handy too.

Yep, rear cargo has a plug-in for the pooch's fan; crate dimensions work awesome too!
Tow package is Toyota. I need to get load specs for it.
A bit annoying that the rear pax heater fans take up room under the front seats. That could been a duct setup under the console easily enough; all the rear accessories work tho'.

My other two q's would be if the FWD is ADD/autohubs up front, and if it's ABS. I did a full panic stop from 60mph, and it was solid, but without the feedback thru the pedal like what I've experienced with other ABS systems.

VERY tight shifting pattern; kind of fun to fool with cruise on a stickshift-- they used to call that a throttle control!

**Owner had it in 4WD full time during Jan/Feb, and was getting around 20 mpg, guess out of 4WD to be about 23 mpg.

Gotta find a screw for the trim fairing along the driver's seat; looks like it was removed at one point. No rattles otherwise; very sound. Nary a tear nor scuff otherwise.

Looks like I'd be able to work on this puppy once I get familiarized. Quite the change from the ol' 22R mills I've got around my place! On the 2.7's, I briefly read something about a tendency toward sludge, but haven't found anything else, nor documented online at least.

A 4 banger is still cheaper coming out of the machine shop than a 6 banger if rebuilding later on, by about half. That's per my local machinist as of about 9 months ago.

Seller was a little pizzed that I offered $9500, as there was no maintenance documentation from the previous owner (I'll be #3 if I get it), but she also knows I'm already preapproved for my loan, so we'll see....am trying to find out how much is still left on her lien; new finagling for me, as last time I bought anything, it was Ol' Blue off the lot.

That means I get the joy of finding out if stuff like the timing belt and fuel filter, etc has been swapped or not. While looking at the CV boots, frame, and the engine, looks like this rig has truly been a pavement queen.

Cool. I'll be 46 this summer, so this will be the last rig I ever hafta buy if I don't hit anything. Wish me luck!!
