If I wind up with this thing, I need to run the VIN by the dealer anyway to determine if there's a factory alarm on this thing in addition to the tow bar specs.

I think all alarms were dealer/port installed, so VIN may not help there. And, IIRC, 2.7's are rated to tow 3500 lbs.
