I am looking to buy some headers for my 1999 4-runner. I have looked online and the choices seem limited to TRD, Downey and Northwest Offroad for the most part. Anyone know where is a good place to buy any of these cheap or have another brand name to look at. Also, i have heard that SS Autochrome headers have their issues, but they do make a set for the tacoma 5VZ and i was thinking about saving the money and using those with a custom cross-over pipe.

Avoid NWOR like the plague.
TRD may just be the way for you to go, but be prepared for the sticker shock associated with their stuff.

I have to disagree about the NWOR headers...I had them on my 01 Tacoma and they worked great. I was pretty impressed!

How much did you get the NWOR headers for... How have they held up?

I have to disagree about the NWOR headers...I had them on my 01 Tacoma and they worked great. I was pretty impressed! I never said anything about NWOR's quality... Just their unethical business practices! You may have gotten lucky, but many others have been screwed out of a lot of hard-earned cash when they shipped the wrong part. Hey, stuff happens, right? Uhnfortunately NWOR = No Warranty Or Returns. Even if they screwed up.

NWOR owes me over $400. Been so for 11 years. Wonder if I'll ever get that money??? NWOR has some great products. Their 22re and 3.0 headers are my personal favorites. But I would never buy from them unless I was able to walk into the store and fully inspect the parts before taking delivery. That's the ONLY way.

Well I called NWOR today and they still do not make the headers for my truck anyway and are no longer an option. I am looking very closely now at Downey... I was quoted a price this morning for Chrome ($395), Ceramic ($485) and crossover pipe ($150). Anywhere that I could get that price bumped down any and is the ceramic worth it do you think?

Ceramic is def. worth it. But for that price, I'd spend another $100 or so and buy TRD's stainless.
