I was coming home from a trip yesterday and I started to lose the transmission coming up a long hill. When I stopped the truck there was trans oil everywhere. It appears that I may have blown a hose or something up near the trans cooler because there is oil from the trans cooler all the way back. Any hints on what it may be? I looked around but couldn't see anything obvious and wasn't in a position to really get into it. I'm having the truck towed to a dealer and any hints anyone can give me will prepare me for my "battle".

I started to notice a problem on a flat stretch before I started up the hill so I don't think the long climb caused a problem.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated. It's a '97, 4wd with an automatic, 148k miles.

Thanks.
