The point isn't that corn is the only thing that will take CO2 out of the atmosphere - the point is that we are using a fuel that reduces CO2 and creates oxygen in its production.

Fossil fuels on the other hand simply create CO2. Thousands of years of CO2 being burnt up in a couple hundred years equals no more Swiss Alps.

Sugar Beets are a great idea. Especially for climates furthers North. May have more potential than corn in some respects - more sugar equals more alcohol does it not? Brazil has been doing this for years with sugar cane.
