As long as I'm taking over the board with my questions.....

Anybody have a good sense of how strong the tranny/transfer case combo is on these P'up drivetrains? Mine is out of an 81--the 4sp 4x4 option. I have been taking my jeep with this transplant drivetrain out on the trail with my jeep buddies, and it's doing awesome. The only time I got stuck, it was a traction issue (I have smaller tires than everybody else, and some of the trails are just so rutted from the big tires that the little tires don't cut it anymore). But just from an external observation, this married tranny/transfer unit doesn't look anywhere near as strong as the t18/spicer 20 combo I have in my Jeep pickup truck. And given the fact that this tranny/transfer came out of a light duty pickup, I'm curious just how strong these guys are? Am I riding a risky line by taking this drivetrain offroading with 31 inch tires?

I've been super impressed with this engine/tranny/transfer so far, so I'm expecting the answer to be "don't worry about it," but I thought I'd tap into the knowledge here just to double-check.

Thanks once again, all,

lamby
