I picked up an axle the other day from a friend who needed it gone. He said it was a D44 (full width) but I didn't look at it too closely till yesterday. It appears to be a 10-bolt based on the shape of the diff cover. From what I gather, the strength of a 10-bolt is very comparable to a D44, and that the knuckles are interchangeable.

Other than not being able to use my D44 ARB, is there any reason why this shouldn't be as good as a D44 for my future SAS?

I'm still trying to decide if I keep it, or try to give it back. The price was right, but I don't need another lawn ornament.
