To those who have a vehicle.
did YOU search out the vehicle and choose it for yourselves, or did the broker source the vehicle (a selection meting your criteria) and then let you choose.

I ask because I would want certain options (factory rear diff lock) and you sometimes seem unsure of exactly whats coming with the vehicle (Phil?)

Cheers

Both. My importer was looking for me and so was I. Unfortunately, some of the options are difficult to discern from the auction sheet (re locker). Most other things were easy to see though... I had a specific criteria, so I just had to be more patient. If you need a certain option, you simply have to wait, and deal with a broker who is able to get the nitty gritty details before you bid. This can be difficult, since sometimes they come up fast...

Here is where I got mine...

http://ridhaa.com/user/details.php?VehicleId=1927&Pid=9246&currency_id=1

I watched the auction sites and brokers for 4 weeks. I lost auctions (typically by $100 or $200 US) on 4 or 5 Hilux surf's, Three Prados and 3 other Pajeros. I passed on atleast 20 others that met my critera but just did not feel right after I got the translations of the auction sheet.

I became aware of the one I bought from a RIDHAA "new stock" email and I jumped at it just by its looks and partly by the frustration of the hunt to that point. Those looking to import should sign up for brokers new stock emails.

Today I would probably use someone like this to import directly nesxt time...

There is another importer bookmarked on my home computer that looks OK as well and I have been following both of their web sites for almost 2 yrs now.

Both offer clean and inspection service as well as straight vanila shipping and export. I am not sure on translation of auction sheets.

Translation of auction sheets is VERY important in an auction... ALSO NEVER NEVER BID ON ANYTHING BELOW A 3.0 unless you enjoy suprises.. 3.5 to 4 is your best bet...

BTW... Most brokers know about as much on LSD as I did (Search archive of main forum for a laugh <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> )

Body Damage is Cool
I've been looking at that one on JDM Connection. I think I'd rather have a V44WG, just because. Interior grade "C" scares me a bit as well...

This site: http://www.japaneseusedcars.com shows these vehicles are selling cheap! It's the cost of shipping that seems to really increase the prices.

I am reading the US import policy and on the list of accepted pajeros is 85 or older... not much to celebrate but I do know the Pajero Cabriolet (softop) was sold in 85. Biggest thing would be finding one worth importing. Germany is Left hand drive right?
