It snapped over a year ago, right where it attached to the handle under the dash, so there was no way to clamp the two parts together. I fixed it for a while by drilling and tapping a hole in the end of the rod that attaches to the handle, then inserting the cable end and tightening a screw into it. It worked for maybe 8 months or so, then a hard yank pulled it out one day. It worked fine for parking, and I could probably fix it that way again, but if my brakes went out on a long downhill or something, I don't know if I'd trust my fix to work as an emergency brake.

There are a couple front cables on ebay right now, but they're both for 4runners, and as I understand it, they won't work for an extra cab truck (or a longbed either).

I don't have a dealer very close by, so I was hoping to order a cable online, but I'm not having much luck.

Also, not having pulled the cable for a while, my brakes were getting out of adjustment. I didn't realize the e-brake cable functioned as the "automatic" adjustment for the rear brakes. I bled the whole system trying to get rid of the spongy brakes, which didn't work, then I read on here about the e-brake cable adjusting the rear brakes... so I rolled under the truck and yanked on the lever a few times, and that tightened everything up perfectly. Oh well, at least I know the brake system is nice and clean now!
