The next morning I did a door and the rest of the front floor.
It was only about 75 cuz the weather had changed. It was way stiffer nd a bit hrder to form as well as stick.
I also did the driver door
Wiped it all down with acetone then stuck just two long strips on the inside of the door skin
All around the speaker hole and in a few spots both inside and outside on the inner frame panel.
Oh man what a difference!!!!
The door has a nice luxury car sound to it. Nice dull thud instead of the tinny rattle.
This helped more then the flooring did
plus I only did one door untill it warms back up.
The sound from that speaker is greatly improved too.
in retrospect,
i would recomend doing the doors and quarter panelsbefore theflooring because once I looked closer at what was there ,
Toyota already installed a few mats of sound prevention on the front and backseat flooring. But not under the seats or tranny hump.
It all helps but i think those large empty spaces on the sides cause the majority of the noise.
The truck sounds like what it does when i'm packed up to go camping. It sounds "heavy"
Because the only time it is qwuiet is when it's all loaded up.
I'm goint to price insulation, or carpet padding as suggested in the original post linked above for the far back of the truck then try some peel n seal if that doesnt do the trick. If I remeber correctly there is some noise dampening on the floor back there too. Iknow I'll be doing the inside of the quarter panels and around my subs too.
I'll keep updating.
Plus i'm going to check on the rain and ice guard.
Looks the same except doesnt have a foil backing but comes in a 200 sq ft roll for $100. Cheaper but way too much material. Good to split between three people though. I've read at the Grace site that they also make rain and ice strips that are about 1 foot wide. Havent found those yet.
