Hi guys , I'm looking for a few pics of the passenger side fender well , with all the harnesses and plugs showing.I think I am missing a piece that bolts to a piece thats on the fender well allready , and that piece I believe has the plug end I am looking for that goes to the black relay(big one) where all those other relays are hidden under the plate behind the windshield washer resevoir.I looked closely , and there is no other plug under the hood that will fit that large black plug there , so there has to be another part I need to put on.Thanks guys , this will help

I can get ya all the pics you need... if you gimmee a few days. but, I don't think there's anything "behind" the windshield washer reservoir.

In front of the reservoir is a box with some fusible links in it. Is that what you mean ?

There are relays for the headlights, etc underneath a bracket behind (toward the rear of) the washer bottle, is that whatcha mean ?

See if the pics in the archive about wiring an accessory circuit will help ya any.

There are a plug or two that may not be used under there, read that post and it may tell ya what ya need to know?

The one with 10-15 wires?

I can snap you pics of mine. I have the relay cover/bracket unbolted right now, and its a mess becauase I hacked up/off the stock battery tray and made a custom one.

I'll snap a couple of pics of the spot I am talking about tomorow , and then you'll probably notice right away whats missing. There has to be something else that goes on the spot I am talking about that has another plug that goes into the bigger black relay style plug. Its easier to describe once I have the pics on here.

Dug around and found some photos that I took of that area when I was changing my wimpy horn and upgrading it to a trumpeting dual horn setup.

Here are the photos:

In the photo above I added another relay for the two car horns in the empty space to the right of the tan colored relay.

In the photo above you can see the newly added wire loom that contains the new circuit from the car horns. (you will not have this) You can barely make out the new relay's position at the end of the loom.

In the above photo this is the front left corner behind the passenger headlight and in front of the battery. Again, that new green wire going into the new black wire loom is from the newly added car horn circuit.

You're getting closer every day, Barak. Hope that this helps you.

Thats exactly what I am looking for In the second picture , you have 2 relays together under the plate. On mine , I have 4 on the plate itself , then another plate goes over that with 4 more relays.Any idea what the 2 by their lonesome are for?Just wondering if they are for something that I have a different relay for?I did add A/C , but I found the extra wire harness taped in there , and the relay for it so plugged it in.I think I added it to the right relay , which was grey and not in use in the bottom 4.Could the 2 black ones be for A/C?

And the picture I needed to see was the one with the plate on , you can see that big black relay on it.The wires I was looking for seem to be seperate little ones that plug into it , and not a big harness. Also , the part where all those harnesses end up down a little from that plate , looks like I have everything there , thats just where all the harness end up meeting.

You mean the two little ones, on the fender itself? No, those are hi/lo beam relays.

Just a thought from looking through the wiring Haynes diagram for my '91, does yours (or did it) have the rear heater? I know a lot of Canadian ones did. The extra relays (or at least some of them) might be for that.

Been a while since I looked at it, I'll try and drag the book back out and look at what circuits have relays in them and maybe it will help you trace some of them down.

BTW, impressive project! And in a very short (at least from my professional procrastinator viewpoint) timeframe!

Brown is the main relay, the big black one on the inside is the blower relay. Grey is one of many a/c relays (for pressure switch). Black one next to that is for rear defog. That's all I have on my 2.8, plus what's in the fuse box and under the dash, behind the glovebox, etc. Also there's a starter relay below the receiver/dryer.

My relay panel looks like RubyTrooper's FWIW, with factory air and no cruise.

Did you even ask about this or am I answering a non-question smile

I do have the rear blower heater under the passenger seat , so maybe thats what my extra ones are for. Also I have cruise factory , and added A/C myself , the wiring and everything is there in all models even if that option isn't there.Just need to find the right wire for it , which isn't too difficult.
