I'm thinking of getting one of these to put my radio and cb in hard to steal storage and out of the way of other things. Who has this console? You like it? Does it live up to the name? http://www.quadratec.com/products/14134_01_07.htm

I just used the slide mount that came with it. I mounted it looking up in front of the console. Just slid it in when I wheeled and that was probably 1/2 the time just because you don't leave any one behind. That mount looks expensive.

not that particular one, but i love my tuffy console. it's in between the seats and i have left my top off in a storm and neither my radio nor the papers inside the console got wet. good security and utility. tuffy gets my thumbs up.

I like to just hit the inside with the hose after the trail and having the radios out rather bothers me in that regard.

It looks like a head banger to me! I like the option of open sky and dropping the windshield anytime too much to get something like that.

To deal with that though I plan on getting different seats and fabricating a seat braket that doesn't have me sitting so high. Did you use a set of plans to build yours? Still got em?

I don't us a roll bar in the Willys. I'm the other way. I go places where I could roll and in fact have come close to it a couple times. I'm actually going to vamp up my rollbar and put something up there to slow down any stumps or rocks that could poke in between the bars and get me. Probably spread steel or something similar. I like my brain.

looks like a pretty sweet console. if its too much of a pain in the culo, and you cant find a helmet that fits comfortably, you could always find something to break on it...it comes with a lifetime wrranty
