ok i dont know if im doing this the right way to be done but hey i want it done for this weekend! i need to replace my 3rd member with 4:88.. anyways..

i dissconected my break line from the caliper.. then i took off the cover to the hub and took out the snap ring.. then i unbolted the bolts that hold on the knuckle wiper and took off the j-arm that go to my crossover steering and whatya know the knuckle comes off nice and easy... just wondering if this is the way to be doing this?? and if i can re-use my wiper seal? i think thats what its called???

You want this

and the '85 FSM sticky'd here at the top of this section; follow the instructions for the download tools.

Not sure about the wiper seal; might do for now, but I'd get a front end gasket kit from www.marlincrawler.com to square that away later on.

Yep, that is the quick way to pull the front axle shafts out. A bit tricky getting back together sometimes. But no need to mess with the wheel bearings.

I would suggest you replace all the seals that you can, since you're there anyway. But since you're already done don't worry about it. But my experience is that those damn wiper seals go out with ease, so since you're already there might as well replace them..
