OK, I finally installed my Rancho 9000s! However, now I am confused to what the setting is on the shocks. With reference to the image below:

[Linked Image]

Is the above shock adjusted to setting:
 • 5
 • 3
 • 1
 • 9
 • 7
 • Other
Enlightenment would be appreciated, and, any tips on the settings that you have learned also are valued. TIA

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (it's been a LONG time since I've had 9000s), but IIRC, if you spin the dial as far as it will go to the left, that's the first setting. All the way spun to the right would be the highest setting. I'm thinking you have it on the 5th setting there by the looks of it.

Hope that helps ...

Now that you installed them, be sure to turn the dials through the full adjustment range at least every few months to keep rust from freezing up the adjuster. If you want to prevent rusting, take off the adjuster by removing the allen screws, fill the inside with lithium grease, and replace it. Water just gets in there and rusts things. Overall, I do like them and have make this part of regular maintenance. If they ever get stuck, take off the adjusters and give the inside surface a wack to free it up and then grease it.

My boots seem to get torn up after a year or so. Matt Indy4X sells new boots (different colors) for just a few bucks.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, they didn't get very rusty while in the closet for the last year and a half. So, they are mounted now with the dial adjuster end at the bottom. If I remove the two allen bolts and the adjusters to grease the area will any oil pour out of the shock body?

And the obvious question that I forgot!! Is the highest setting, "9", the stiffest? That is, the most dampening is offered when the shock is set to "9"?

You can always add on the controller.I have it , but haven't put it on yet.It replaces the dial on the shocks , then you just push a button in the cab to change the settings.
