No S/C received yet (after 2 weeks) - called and was told they were waiting for one to be returned. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> After a few niceties <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />, one "appeared" from new stock and supposedly was shipped today for Monday arrival at their expense without the $400 deposit. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

So, while I had nothing else to do I decided to pretty up the fuel fittings - off to Lowe's and the local hardware store for an assortment of fittings. The passenger side is a plumbing maze, but I now have clearance by the coolant lines and everything tucks up nice and neatly for easy fuel hose attachment. The street ell on the passenger side will have to be bored for proper fuel flow, but that's no problem. With all of the twisty turns, I'll use that side of the rail for the return side:

I should be able to finalize the plenum sizing, S/C location and snout length next week when I receive the blower mule.

Still nothing else to do, so I decided to get an idea of how much volume is in the intake runners. I had estimated a little less than 60 cid, but wasn't sure how much I was off... so.... cut the mock plenum for runners, sealed the exposed wood edges with epoxy, installed some injectors and the fuel rail in an extra lower intake, sealed the bottom of the runners with duct tape, flanges with RTV..... and filled the runners with water:

900ml - or - 54.92 cid.... call it 55.0 cid.

I'll need at least 37.0 cid displacement in the plenum box.... that's no problem as I'll probably have a bit more.

Eddy -

Check your PMs - I need someone to check the volume in the inlet port area of the heads.

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Arrrrgggghhhh! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

I received the S/C test-fit unit today from Magnuson. Instead of an MP62 they sent an MP45 - oops, wrong case <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> - the dimensions are the same except for length... the MP62 is 1.74" longer than this one. I did position it on the plenum to see if the MP62 as I spec'd would fit - looks like it will. It's a beautiful piece<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />, but I guess I'll have to wait a while longer - good thing this is a hobby truck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

The guy I dealt with left for the UK today and will be gone for a couple of weeks - so another fellow has to contact him to see what to do. I gotta say that Magnuson's product looks nice, but their (small) customer service leaves a LOT to be desired. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

Here are a few pictures of my initial eyeball try-fit for overall length and belt selection. There's a gap in available belt lengths that will require a lot of patience with idler pulley sizing/location/quantity to find the right combination:

So, I'll do some more waiting. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Frank,

I past Clemson Road at about 4 p.m. Sunday on my way home from the folks house. The urge to drive by was strong, but I hate to show up unannounced. So, I didn't do it.

Probably a good thing, too. You don't need to contend with drool on your mock-up. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Nice work, man.

87 Montero, bought new, by me -
88/89 intercooled Starion Turbo engine-
