SO did you take the hood off and drive it around the block yet?

Nope - still plenty of work left.... need to mark vacuum and boost port locations on the plenum and inlet pipe, weld some bosses at those locations so I can drill and tap for fittings, weld a rear support brace, fabricate the nose drive support, mount the fuel regulator, fabricate the intake flex hose, extend the wiring harness to the TPS and IAC, shorten the throttle and kickdown cables, send the blower back to Magnacharger for a replacement, install everything with plumbing, etc, make and install a hood scoop, paint the hood - and so forth.

Patience, grasshoppers - I only have a little time each week to work on this thing.

Frank

So are you gonna make a custom A-Pillar pod for the boost guage?

OH, CRAP!!!! I really didn't think you'd be to this point already. I figured on at least a year before anything serious started happening. Now I have to go back and read the whole thread.

DARN YOU, FRANK!!

6-8 psi should be just fine for what I want.... don't want to blow up this poor old engine. Anyway, that's about the practical limit without a lot of changes to the engine and fuel system.

More fun today - the details take a long time and it's sure tempting to rush things.

Drilled and tapped a hole for a boost port - to run the vacuum/boost gauge and fuel pressure regulator.... attached nylon tubing goes to the gauge, the open side of the tee will feed the fuel pressure regulator:
[Linked Image]
Welded/threaded ports and fittings for the brake booster and PCV valve hoses:
[Linked Image]
Rear brace welded on the inlet pipe for additional stability - intended to cover/use both holes in the OE plenum stay, but missed the down angle - one through-bolt should work, though - not gonna redo it:
[Linked Image]
Nice little bracket for the throttle valve cables - hopefully figured out how I can use OE transmission cable adjusters on both shortened cables:
[Linked Image]
Right rear corner of the discharge plenum milled to clear the heater hoses - still need to massage the angle of the hose connections just a wee bit more:
[Linked Image]
Drilled and tapped a hole to use a reformed bracket and wire loom at the front of the blower plenum - ok, it's mainly for looks, but it does serve to keep the wires from rubbing :

All in all, a good day with at least a little progress.

Ha! Good one, Les

You'd better do something about the hi-speed yard cart off the starboard bow tho'. I think it's pacing Frank...

Yeah, but notice I was only turning 5400 rpms on 9psi of boost... at 126mph, think how much more there was left at 6000 rpms.... another 14mph = 140mph top end at red line!
