No cranking this weekend..... I did a little work on it today - made a couple of aluminum wire clamps and lengthened the harness to the air flow meter. The harness work takes a lot of time.... going to the store(s) to find what I need, cutting/marking wires, crimping/soldering/shrink-wrapping and taping the bundle took all afternoon just to get that one harness completed and connected. The TPS, IAC, coil/power transistor/tach signal harnesses remain.
Work tomorrow and a Saturday trip to TigerTown for the Maryland game will hold me up 'til Sunday.... maybe I can get a little more harness work done on Sunday.
Vacuum lines still remain to be run for the purge control valve, fuel pressure regulator plus hook up for the brake booster, IAC heater, CCV hose and PCV valve. An air duct needs to be constructed from parts I found on a junkyard run and the throttle cables still need to be shortened. I also keep forgetting I need to make an EGR block-off for the exhaust manifold.
I hope it'll start with the stale gas... hasn't run in nearly a year. The old gas will have to be burned off and the tank filled with premium before I can bring the blower on line.
Soon, though.
Frank

This part is slow going...... removed the OE hose barbs from the throttle body, drilled and tapped for 1/4" pipe thread: ![[Linked Image]](http://i79.imagethrust.com/t/474340/img3298.jpg) Installed new fittings and the throttle body is now plumbed like so: ![[Linked Image]](http://i79.imagethrust.com/t/474341/img3300.jpg) Hooked up the IAC coolant plumbing, installed the coil and finished the wiring for the IAC and TPS: ![[Linked Image]](http://i79.imagethrust.com/t/474342/img3301.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i79.imagethrust.com/t/474343/img3302.jpg) Next session I'll wire the tach and ignition circuit. At times today I thought I was backing up more than going forward...... 10 hours on this little bit o' work. Frank

I wish I could hop over, and help ya out with that wiring. Curtis - You've experienced the pleasure of an engine swap , so you can imagine what's involved. I've counted 32 crimped/soldered/shrink-wrapped connections so far for the AFM, TPS and IAC and by my count, another 18 more yet to go for the ignition circuit. Instead of opening the main harness to the shortest run, I'm doubling back the individual harness groups on themselves - so that requires larger, hand-formed cable clamps. The main slowdown with doubling back is that the harness cuts are very close to the connectors and harness branches, leaving very short stubs to work with.... not a lot of fun.... it just takes patience and time to hopefully do the job right on the first try. OK, the wiring and plumbing are complete: ![[Linked Image]](http://i82.imagethrust.com/t/717955/img3303.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i82.imagethrust.com/t/717956/img3304.jpg) Oil fill and vacuum lines to the brake booster and PCV valve are installed: ![[Linked Image]](http://i81.imagethrust.com/t/717957/img3305.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i81.imagethrust.com/t/717958/img3306.jpg) Now, it's time to make the EGR blockoff, shorten the throttle/tranny cables and fashion an inlet air duct. The EGR blockoff is complete, painted and installed: ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481137/img3311.jpg) The throttle cables are now shortened and installed with new cable stops... the tranny kickdown stop hole on the throttle body bell crank had to be enlarged. I've left the tranny cable intentionally long and will trim it after I test drive and adjust it. Both cable adjusters are the transmission cable type: ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481133/img3307.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481134/img3308.jpg) Now for the inlet air duct... this piece came from a junkyard donor - mid-'80s Camaro: ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481135/img3309.jpg) I pulled the pipe and found that a 1/4" brass pipe fits perfectly to make the CCV connection. I originally intended to combine this piece with another hose, thus the piece of PVC that I was going to cut as a coupling, but that idea dodn't work - so ignore the PVC elbow: ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481136/img3310.jpg) AFAIK (and hope), everything's finished except the nose drive brace and I need to go to the shop to get a tab welded with the brace on the truck, so that'll come after I get it running: ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481138/img3312.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481139/img3313.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i83.imagethrust.com/t/481140/img3314.jpg) So, if it'll run, I'll take it to the shop and weld the nose brace and install the blower belt after burning off the old gas. Right now the battery's on the charger and I guess the first moment of truth is at hand. Frank
