FrankR is actually a real off-roader now, as he was in north Georgia last November at Beasley Mt.

Frank what did you do before your retired?

Frank I've got a spare fuel rail from a 3.5 DOHC if you need it. I dont know of its working condition but I assume its fine - got it on Ebay for a few bucks and scored some injectors out of the deal...the guy was just parting his truck out.

Phil, thanks. I'd need to see the fuel rail side-be-side to compare it to the 3.0L rail, so I don't know if it'll fit or not - or if it would offer any advantage. The 3.5L injectors are 240cc/min - same flow rate as I'm using now.

I took the blower and plenum back off today and found the leak - it's one of the joints where I tapped into the fuel rail. Risto (777) has had the same experience and found soldering to work..... I'll try some high silver content solder, braze all of the joints sometime this week and try again. I can't really evaluate/adjust the regulator until I get the fuel rail to hold pressure.

Frank

If silver solder holds a/c pressures, it should hold yours...

Arrrghhh! The aggravation continues...... had the fuel rail silver soldered - looked good/strong/etc. There WAS one joint that looked suspicious......... yep, it leaked and the pump could not build pressure when the engine was cranked.

I've figured out how to pressure test it, though. The injectors will hold pressure if they're installed, so I'll take the fuel rail along with an old set of injectors and a spare lower intake to the shop and explain that I don't want it back until the rail holds at least 100psi.

Still looking for that pony........

Frank
