The VB921 has the feature that it simplifies the off board wiring and B&Gs software is pre set for it.

I suppose I agree with the notion that it's easier/simpler to use the VB921 as a replacement for the external ignition module, but I'm taking a wait and see position on it. In any event, I've bitten the bullet and installed the VB921 high current driver circuit and will try it - although I understand that the ECU is exposed to less internal electrical noise if the OE ignition module is used instead.

I went ahead and installed the PWM flyback damping circuit, although the manual says it isn't needed for my choice of high impedence injectors. At least it shouldn't hurt anything and I might as well use the extra parts for something. It does give me the option of later changing to low impedence injectors if desired.

I'm now at the point of installing the standard flyback circuit.... and taking a break to relieve eye strain. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the opinions and comments. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Yes, but let's make him finish it first - he needs motivation to keep going at this point, I would imagine...?

You can do it Frank, you cool dude!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Yep, Phil - definitely in need of motivation...... my head is spinning from all these 'lectron choices. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

The 10,000 views is what happens when you take over a year to complete a project and don't get it right the first time. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

My guess is that the gallery is waiting to see the second explosion. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I run flyback on all the boards I make. I do not install the overload for the injectors though.

Yes 10k views is impressive, I think superchargers are of interest here?

What's the downside of installing the 14A clamp for the FET driver circuit? The manual says it's recommended for "most" (there's that word again) assemblies.

As you've seen here, much of the interest is in more power for the 3.0L trucks - whether engine swaps or forced induction. This may have been the first positive displacement blower on a longitudinally mounted 3.0L truck engine...... there are now also 2 or 3 trucks in Australia with Eaton/Nissan blowers that I know about.

Here's the completed MS2/V3.0 ECU - still need to touch up some solder joints, clean the PCB with alcohol and install the tubing that connects the MAP sensor, but hopefully all is finished on the ECU assembly phase:

No downside that I know to be real. I have been running Low imp on four cylinders and have not seen any current draw even close to worry about. And with three per channel there is still plenty of room even with low imp injectors.
But the board is designed by an 8 cylinder guy an he needs to provide protection at that level. Then the clamps may come to value.
