After your post, I did some reading also and see that folks have problems getting them to work. One of the suggestions was a Bosch auxiliary air valve. It sounds like a simple work-around... one wire and an 8 minute warmup cycle from cold.

Have you had any experience with them and do you think that would work? I can probably find those in a yard.
