When the key is off, it is just that off, the coil should not be powered. In the MS world somehow there have been those that had power to the coil with the ECU off. I am not sure how. The part that I was trying to get through and I expect I over complicated it was that the ignition is all powered only with the ECU being powered. Are you aware that in many Mitsubishi vehicles the ignition and many sensors remain powered for 20 seconds after the engine is off.
