Under base ignition, you mean move the trigger offset number that you changed to 60? If so, do I need to "Burn to ECU" after each change?

Missed this, Yes you need to burn.

Maybe it kicked hard and jumped time.

Geez... I reckon it did. The passenger side cam cover is completely broken... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> belt's loose on the sprockets.

I think I need to cut some more bait. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

That sucks! I expect the valves are gone from the noise, maybe not.

If the belt is that loose, is it broken or did an idler or the tensioner fail?

Shouldn't be - non-interference engine..... but it still sucks.

I don't know yet - It's still around both cam sprockets..... just loose. Maybe I forgot to tighten the tensioner with all of the cam work I did.

That has been done before.
If it is, it will be nice if no damage is done. Bad enough that it will take a day to check and reset it.

It can wait until tomorrow. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I do have a hunch, though. Something hard had to have been leveraged against the cam cover to break it like that - it's broken at both mounting bolts. My guess is the tensioner spring broke, caught in the belt, rode between the belt and sprocket until it reached the cam cover and.... bang!

I'd bet a beer on it....... I'll know tomorrow... maybe.

Of course it is under the Accy mount so no easy access.

Nope - not easy...... radiator, A/C compressor, P/S pump and crank pulley all have to come off. I've never replaced one with the engine in the truck, but there's a first time for everything.
