Charlie, have you seen any of the MLS gaskets that don't seal well? In checking a few things today for the source of oil leaks, I found the underside of the passenger headgasket to have just a little oil on it - right at the rear lower corner. I don't think that's the big leak or oil would be all around that area.... it's just a small weep (I think). I don't know if it migrated there or not, but the front of the gasket seems dry.

I guess it's possible that when the timing belt snapped, it could have let an exhaust valve close and breach the gasket, but I'm a little doubtful..... more likely that the finish wasn't good enough for the MLS gasket. I can try to retorque it, but I don't know if it'll help.

What's your experience been with those gaskets? I'm trying to decide whether to try a redo on the pan or pull the engine and look it over really well. I'd hate to go to the trouble of redoing the pan and still have it leak and have to pull it anyway.
