Kevin - good point..... it would have made my life easier if they had done a recall. There would have been some minor inconvenience of removing the blower and waiting while it was rebuilt, but the result of not recalling it has caused the same inconvenience and much more. They probably didn't know how many of the batch they received were bad - and the percentage of bad ones may have been very small compared to the total batch. I'm told it was only a few. I might have made the same choice they did, but your point does raise the issue which recognizes that the choice of inaction should include further responsibility to those who discovered the flaw on their own and suffered unnecessary engine damage.

Les - not yet..... I believe the circumstances are straightforward enough to cause any reputable company to do the right thing..... and I want to give them every opportunity to make that decision without applying any leverage. If they make the right choice I'll continue to believe they are deserving of their reputation.
