I brought a reclaimed battery home from the yard and stuck it in temporarily to move this along a little...... pumped out the year-old gas and put in 5 fresh gallons of 93...... primed the oil pump, connected the injectors and......

IT's ALIVE!

There is nothing that sounds so good as a fresh engine firing off for the first time. This one sounds like it might be a good one after I sort through a surging at idle and a light popping in the exhaust I can hear at 2000rpm...... I think it might be the o2 sensor that needs calibrating - it's been sitting a year and I forgot to calibrate it before I started the engine. I got 80+ psi oil pressure on startup..... have over 20 psi at idle and 45psi at 2000rpm.... the oil pump relief valve appears to be working properly....... no fluid leaks.

The sound and picture quality of this phone is terrible, but here are clips near the end of the 2000rpm 20 minute test run in the garage:

Up close and personal, it sounds lovely.

Now I need to drain and refill the fluids, change the oil filter, put on some tires and go for a break-in drive.
