Getting the Wheeling Fever

I've got an '83 pickup that is not going into gear (any gear). I'm going to pull the tranmission and look at the clutch but figure I should have a lead on a tranny just in case. I've got a friend with an '84/85 transmission he'll sell me fairly cheap. What year transmissions will fit in an '83 with no modification? I'm assuming '83 and earlier.
