It'd be cool to send EB a stripped down short block, and let the guys there "have at it". Perhaps freight it back when complete, or figure out a way to pick it up. Try Oregon Engines. They have a store on ebay I bought my 3vze motor from them. They have the best warranty I've seen and the price aint bad. They have 100+ reviews from various repair shops and they are all good so I would check them out.

Also be aware that the KEY WORD for a core exchange is a REBUILDABLE block. One of them thar fine print things people overlook.

So what's up with what you've got? If it isn't any good, then you're better off to save on shipping and scrap it.
