I have tried to rewind the cables on mine several times. But once they fall off tracks they get kinks and are almost impossible to keep wound. I would recomend just purchacing a new lift system (cable, reel, tract). Its just bolts on to the old motor and you stick it back in the panel.

Its been a while but it was fairly easy to remove from what I remember. First you remove the door panel and plasctic, easy to figure out. There are 3 screws that hold on the motor and 2 screws that attach the window to the tract guide. They are hard to get to depending on the location of the window, need to find holes in the panel to get to the screws. Also, 3 or 4 screws holding the tract in place. And everything should come out as one unit, its diffiucult to snake it all through but if I remember right the upper left hole was large enough.

Just start ripping at it, its not difficult, no real gotchyas. There may be some extra screws I may have not remembered <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
