If the cable falls off the track the best thing to do is to leave the window alone until you can take the whole motor out. As far as I know there are two types of window regulators, the cable/track type and the gear teeth type. My trooper is the cable/track type and I have "fixed" the left rear multiple times. If your cable is kinked it can be straightened out with pliers but it is very frustrating to go through and rewind the whole thing. I guess all I'm saying is that you just have to open the whole thing up and mess with it, pretty self explanatory. Good luck, it can turn into a PITA.
