Clutch Pedal Bushings #727389 05/27/06 02:19 PM

Hi guys,
I just found this place, looks good! I have had a problem with the clutch pedal bushings on my '02 TRD. I'm on my 3rd set with just over 40,000. Toyota has been great replacing them now twice, but I asked the dealer what was up- he said it's been an ongoing problem, but that Toyota hasn't done anything about yet, they just keep replacing them with the same part, not an improved one. The clutch pedal will start sqeaking every time it's engaged or dis-engaged. At first I thought it just needed some grease, and ignored it, but when I took it in for the Ball Joint thing, they noticed it and said eventually it would do harm and wear on the clutch. That was in Sept '05, they replaced it, just last week it started again, I called them, this time they said it was broken, but again they fixed it all up (Gotta love the warrenty I bought!)

Anyone else having this? Anyone know if they are going fix it?

That is the only thing I ever took my '03 in for during the 2yrs, 60,000 miles that I owned it.

If either of you have a part number for that, could you put it up in the part number sticky?

I've had the same problem on my '02. I've had the bushings replaced 3 times already. Each time the dealership has told me it's just bad bushings. It's about 4-5 months before the clutch starts sqeaking again. Has a solution been found yet?

Read this guy's writeup, and follow the link to Yotatech. Rather interesting and informative thread.
