Two out of the three bolts look like a piece of cake. But that third one (on the top right) looks pretty tough.

Anyone ever take out their starter? Any ideas?

If I can remember correctly I used a bunch of extensions so I could bring the air gun all the way back beside the tranny. I also used a swivle head with the socket so I could get to it at an angle. Yea, it was a huge pita.

It took about 3 hours but I decided to cheat. I enlisted a friend who is an excellent mechanic who works for a dealership.

It was a pita. After getting out the screws we had to remove an engine bracket to get it out. We decided to leave out that third bolt on the install.

What were they thinking??? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

I changed my starter while I had the engine head off, because I could see how impossible it would be to get at later.
