Need a Spot
ok my truck ran fine the only thing that was wrong with it was the battery/charge light was on so i replaced the altanator and wow the lights were gone who would have know.. but right after replacing the alt i have a bad idle and wants to die sometimes... so i decided to replace the wires thinking that would help but now it wont even start and it just makes the horable clicking noise.. i have replaced the start and it would turn over finaly but after a few min the start starts to click once again... i checked and changed the batter allready but that is not working.. tryed a battery jump pack and charger too

so my problem is what could have happend??
and is my plugs in the right order? 1324???

Did you get the 'new' alternator checked before you stuck it in there? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> You didn't say where that one came from...

Check your connections again, fuses, etc.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hook a jumper wire to where the small wire plugs into the starter (aligator clips work well) and put the other end to the + batery. If it starts you have a problem in your wiring, relay, or ignition switch.

Body Damage is Cool
Another thing to try is a new batery terminal. I had minego bad on me. The steel stud starts to carode inside the lead terminal. I rebuilt a starter and still had the prooblem. Then one day whil disconecting my batery it finaly broke off. Starts great now. But I did have to change the alternator last week. Diods went out. Not sure if it is related or not.
