44runner, Name calling is not welcome on this forum. These are the board rules you agreed to when you joined. http://www.outdoorwire.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=agreeYou can disagree with them but don't violate them. This thread gets civilized or it goes away. Keep it civil and keep it respectful.

MAN Dave, what've you done? That things just not gonna be the same on the highway now. For the same cash you blew on the SAS you might have been able to afford a trick rear bumper like Steves. A little more cash and you could be running whatever suspension Steve's opinion is endorsing this week. The highway manners woulda been a lot better that way, dang you dave. Should of put more thought on how its gonna handle on pavement *cough*schaefer *cough* before you went and did that.

Hey Dave, don't castigate or stereotype everyone on this board because of one person's opinion.
I hope to see your beast in action this year - EC4RJ or GWNF. Should be a sight.....

You'll definately see me at EC4RJ. I am already counting the days...

i don't get it steve. you're a cool guy to hang out with in person but you can really be judgemental about someone thinking outside of the box - especially if you don't like the idea. it's each to his own. and they live by it.
i don't see anything wrong with dave's design. if there is, point it out. not only it helps dave out, but others thinking of SAS or just welding in general. can you imagine what people thought of when robert c. and yogi did their sas on their taco? yeah, tacos and runners are different... but someone has to start somewhere.
my choice on sas my runner is based on how dave's turns out. if it rides nice on the road with the coiled rear, then i'll fork the money out (somewhere?@!) to do it. but hey, if it doesn't work, then cut the rear coils and weld in some leaf springs... or just buy a new old toy for a trail rig. [ February 20, 2003, 01:27 PM: Message edited by: beachtaco ]

ALL i gotta say is hell ya dave, you da man. steve is just jelious, everyone is. i was pumped from the start man, you do what you gotta do, and ignore the haters, and just remeber you gotta fan club behind you supporting you the entire way. Also, if his focus was on streetability, he would not have done this, he obviously is focused on the off-road manners, rather than on-road manners. death wobble sucks a big one, i have felt it myself, and almost made a big mess, but hey, it can be fixed, and i see nothing wrong yet, but what do i know. i am just a georgia teen

Was that the hangar bracket that fell off? I know that in the early stages, alot of the taco SAS were having problems with the spring hangar mounts tear or the weld breaking cause of the twisting action. But they solved the problem. It's R&D....
