This is the first time I replaced the ball joints on my '95 T. I don't believe they've ever been replaced. I didn't expect it to be so difficult. I'm having a hard time getting them off. After hitting the BJ post with penetration fluid for 2 days, I again used the SST ball joint remover (like this one http://brandsplace.stores.yahoo.net/0246-otc7314a.html) and the pickle fork. Yet, I'm still unable to separate them. I torqued the ball joint remover to ~80lb/ft and I'm scared that I'll break it if I tighten it any more. I'm curious if anyone else had this issue. If so, what method works best?

Can I heat the steering knuckle with a torch?
