I'll agree with Bansil on that one. I had a Nissan that I did a BL on and luckily, the lift came with the radator drop bracket. I never had any problems with overheating.

The bracket itself was pretty simple, but cutting the old one off was a pain, so a lot of people didn't do it and just removed the fan shroud - they overheated a lot.

If your fan isn't in a shroud, then it isn't pulling air across the radiator. It takes the "easiest route" which is AROUND the radiator.
