I guess you have a good point. If the fan doesn't even kick on until 217, then I don't have much to worry about. It cools like you say.
I'm still testing to see if the fan does kick on in the heat.

When they start puking green stuff on the street they are too hot! If they do not puke then they are happy. The engine likes the heat it is the coolant that is the week link.
