Ive had my jeep about 2-3 months now, and it has performed flawlessly! Until today that is...

Second Gear has taken it upon its self to randomly pop out of gear at any time...

WHY is this? and what is the fix?

Body Damage is Cool
It may help if you say what kind of Jeep and which type and model transmission you are talking about. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Possibly worn engagement teeth?? Does it grind? Do you have body lift?

its a 98 Jeep TJ, 5 speed transmission.

No body lift, no grinding, it just pops out, no real reason as to why.

Unless there is something hitting the shifter, it's probably internal damage. Check out the shifter boot, ETC...

It's probably internal damage then... Try changing the fluid.
