My Saturday project is done. I hope no more broken tie rods on my Trooper. Installation is easy with the puller. Big thanks Independent 4x for a good product!

Yeah, those tie-rods are nice....watch the boots. I tore one in half playing in the sandy part of Poison Spider. I only knew it because another guy down there(in an Amigo) had the same problem.
I am going to get the Energy Suspension poly boots...hopefully this will help.

Which part number from Energy Suspension 9.13101 or 9.13105? One tie rod boot cracked in 20 minutes driving after I installed them.

How much are the boots? Are they hard to change out? I am going to be getting a set of these tie rods next month, so I want to be prepared.

Cool, thanks. I'll just order them all at the same time. It sucks that the original ones seem to tear so easily.

What seems to cause the rips, is that the boot doesn't "seat" on the tie rod. Instead, it is a little pyramid, which just sits on the tie-rod. With the how the tie-rod fits, when it is tightened down it causes the boot to pinched pretty badly.
So imagine a pyramid type sleeve being pinched, and pushed down....eventually it is going to give. The poly boots(not sure on the #) should seat itself a little better on the tie-rod. I am not 100% this will elevate the problem...seeing as there isn't much room between where the tie-rod attaches to the spindle and the "head" of the tie-rod...I hope that makes sense
P.S. I wouldn't order the boots on Matt's site until you verify they will work with him. He uses a different tie-rod end all together. Find out what he uses, then you can either buy the ones that match them at a 4Wheelparts store or him if he can verify the ones shown above will work.

crap, what kind of driving were you doing? just on the road? On the regular road. I will try to use poly boots and will see how they work. Unfortunately, it mean I have to reinstall everything.
