um thats why you get the 27 spline birfields from longfield....

but anyhow ur running 30" tires so youll be all set...

The other thing about longfields are that you can maximize your turning radius with no problems.

Prob 35's safely, 37's if youre easy on it.
For 40's, you need the 30's for sure... but then your ring gear becomes the weak spot...

Thanks guys for answering all my questions. Sounds like I'll be safe running the 31" tires with this is setup then. You guys are really making me wish I got the darned longfields. I should of thought about the future a little bit more I just got them handed to me by the UPS guy so and my friend is coming over with some beer. Time to get big red rolling again!

If you decide on bigger tires and you really want to upgrade to Longs, just do it BEFORE you break the Marfields. You should be able to sell the Marfields to recoupe some of your money.

Now you tell me the marfields suck

Uh... I don't recall saying that. They don't. I just would not have ponied up for them if I could get Longfields. YMMV.

The folks were quite correct on Profields. They do indeed suck - or used to in the first run, at least. Ruined credibility in my book.

The Marfields may in fact work great in your application. Longfields suffer to a slight extent in that their hardness is reduced to gain strength in hard usage (at least the version I run are), which theoretically reduces their wear life.

My application requires strength even at some small expense of wear resistance.
