Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 95 Rodeo 4x4 auto with 107k and as of a few days ago it has been stalling out on me. Usually it's just out of the blue. I'll be cruising at a constant speed and it just shuts down. Also if I rev it a little in park, as the engine revs down it will just go all the way and stall out. It still pulls strong and doesn't hesitate yet. What could this be?

Fuel filter maybe? Does your check Engine light come on and have you checked for any trouble codes?

The check engine light hasn't come on yet. The fuel filter is one that could cause that and not set off the check engine light. What else could cause this this and not throw a code?

I had a problem with stalling after installing my hella's. I had a bad ground somewhere (seperated off the relay housing in the engine bay)
Check the exhaust also. I had a seperated S pipe and a disconnected muffler (must have run over something while wheeling smile

Hmm. Those are random ones smile I do have driving lights on there but that would be odd for that to cause the stalling. Is there anything tricky to changing the fuel filter on the Rodeo? I've done them on other cars and it was easy.

I have a Gen II Rodeo but changing the fuel filter was easy I'm sure its about the same on yours. Mine was located under the back door on the drivers side frame rail. I know my truck ran better after replacing the filter and putting in new plugs.

Well, I guess that's where I'll start. New plugs, fuel filter, and air filter would be good anyways.
