I just got my new radiator from radiator barn (next day delivery because they had a warehouse in Texas) and I am planning on installing it tonight. Is there anything else that I need to do when I replace it like flush the system or replace anything. I know I need to replace the radiator cap and when I refill the thing I need to do 50/50 with coolant/distilled(?) water but I was thinking that maybe there was something I'm missing like a pre-flush or something.

By the way, my hoses are good(recently replaced both upper and lower) and everything else seems to be working properly.

I think you'll find that when you drain it and then pull it, you're going to accomplish that very thing by swapping out pretty much all of the coolant.

It's a messy, keep-your-dog-away-from-the-puddles-of-coolant sort of job but not too difficult.

Yeah like Mike hinted be careful to seal all containers of the used coolant and wash the ground well of any spilled as its very toxic to animals.

check <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

so there's no obvious preventative maintenance while I'm messing with the cooling system?
