Now the trouble shooting begins

Yesterday, I finished up what should have been the final details that should have allowed me to start the engine. I turned the key and got nothing . I'm getting power, but no starter click at all. I'm going to start with the simple stuff, like checking the fuses. My next thought was the safety switch that only lets you start in park. I want to find and bypass that, then I'll check the starter.

I've removed one transmission wiring harness completely, disconnecting it behind the drivers headlight. There was one other harness that was mostly transmission, with the exception of the O2 sensor. This one, I just bundled up behind the air box. I even connected the O2 sensor, even though I don't have an exhaust right now, just in case.

I really hope that there is not something in the transmission wiring that has to be connected.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome

OK, forget about that noise ^^^, it runs

Once I started looking at things, I realized that the portion of the transmission wiring that I removed consisted of the sensor that reads the transmission shifter position. Plugged that back in, making sure it was set to park, it cranked right up

Everthing seems to be turning nicely. With the open exhaust manifolds, it is LOUD I need to mount the dipstick, and cut out the rear cross member before I can drive it, so I'm off!

Ok, it's driving, but not great

Things are very sluggish. I don't really want to rev it too high, partially because it's so LOUD, but it's got me wondering if the stall on the torque converter is too high. It feels like there is really no power till 2100 rpm, which is about what the torque converter is rated at. It might just be all the noise from the exhaust, but it feels like the engine is racing. I think the exhaust will be the first order of business, and if I do need to change to a lower stall converter, I'll have to see about having one made with the spacers built in to the feet.

And I've also got some steering bindage. I had to bend back one of the air conditioning hard lines that was rubbing on the steering shaft. Might need to do a little more clearancing.

At least it moves.

I haven't had it in 4wd yet, but 2low is really low

Oh great - Like I didn't already have enough trouble driving behind you slowly enough (in 1st gear & Tera 4-Low! ) on all of those uphill climbs

Keep working out those bugs, Bro...
Sounds like you're almost there!

Ok Smiley, you can get in front and wait on me

I have decided to let someone else deal with the headache of building the exhaust. I was toying with the idea of trying it myself, but I've put enough time in on this one already. If I can get the cross member redone this weekend, I'll drop it off at the shop next week.

The trans temp gauge does not seem to be working. I need to double check the gounds. I'll get some skid plates built, and it should be ready to debut at Callantee at the end of August :knocks on wood:
