After getting the wrong part three times, I finally got the seal I needed for the rear T-case output. I got that installed only to find out that the flange was not thick enough. The nut would bottom out the threads on the output shaft before the bearings were loaded. I had the nut torqued to 100 ft-lbs and there was still a lot of play in the shaft. After talking things over with Doug, I decided to cut a spacer to put behind the washer, that would fit over the splines on the output shaft. I just happend to find a nice deal on a drill press, which made cutting the circluar spacer much nicer . I used a 1.25" hole saw to cut the ID, and a 1.75" hole saw for the OD, and cut it out of 1/4" plate. I tacked it to the washer to keep everything lined up, and it worked great.
Even though the skid plates were cut exactly to my specifications, they still needed substantial modification to fit A cut here, and a trim there, and things are looking good. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures since I leave for Callalantee on Wednesday. I'm sure I'll get some pics this weekend.
I've also been playing with the TV cable adjustment, and I think I've got it where I like it. I had to get a more controled adjustment than moving the cable stop every time, so I unbolted the bracket, and rotated it around the threaded cable each time. I might end up having to shorten the throttle arm, since it seems that I don't have enough pull to get to WOT with this setup. It shifts and kicks down properly under medium throttle. I'll just have to keep that in mind this weekend. I love the fact that I can trailer it up now
Now I just need to figure out how to use a twin stick
