Why are you taking the TC cover off if you're only replacing a piston and rod ? Also, you don't need to remove the intake, just the exhaust manifold. I just replaced a #2 piston with a cracked skirt and it's not necessary to remove the cover, unless you're replacing the chain or guides, of course. Use q-tips to clean out the oil and grime from those head bolt holes. When assembling, only torque that little top front head bolt to 8-10ftlbs.
