what a great feeling when you see all that junk hit the floor I finally got started this week. the old 3.4 rig I had was sold back to the owner and I got my little dd now so it was the only way to go. Should be mobile sometime next month. To do: setup the 5.38s in the rear and weld the carrier SOA the rear weld up my front spring mounts and build shackles hang the d44 by toyota rear leaves build driveshafts ream the pitman from the bottom and attach drag link brake lines groove the 36's and mount them on some wheels buy wheel spacers then: get the 2.6 to idle taurus fan charge AC build some new bumpers and sliders, some sort of cage break everything <- the fun part ps- mlclark thx for the spelling fix

Nice, keep the pics coming in as you progress.
Have you heard from Daniel lately? Just wondering how his SAS/engine/tranny/t-case swap is coming?

upchurch talked to him the other day, and no big news to report. I know he is super busy with work, but hopefully he'll be able to make some progress soon.
I have the day off today but the dang rain hasn't stopped so I couldn't do much. hopefully this weekend we'll see the axle hanging and the rear suspension started.

time and money have been short, and its always either raining or 100 degrees. but today i should get the front axle hung. ordering some spring perches monday and i should get the rear sprung over middle of the week. then i'll cobble some steering together to get it out of eric's driveway next weekend.
hopefully i will get the rearend geared and welded, the steering done, driveshafts made, wheels and tires mounted, and the 2.6 running good in august.
ill get some pics this eve if progress is made.

well we got the axle under her!
after a few hours of very smooth work and things really coming together, I knew something had to go wrong. and of course Murphy came through.
the springs I got at the junkyard turned out to be too long, then I tried some waggy springs and my shackles were too long and I couldn't get a good angle. so we tried a few differnt length shackles and made a set of hybrid leaf packs using waggy mains and moved the rear hangars forward an inch. I'll use the shackles I have on the rear of my truck (~4.25") up front and the ones I made for the front (~5.5") on the rear and I should end up with good angles on both ends maybe not exactly how I wanted it to begin with, but it ought to work.
I should get the pics from Eric tomorrow, but it looks like I got about 5" of lift with the hybrid pack sprung over, which should work perfect with just a rear spring over, but my front axle is forward about 6" which looks a little funny since my fenders are trimmed back so far. I'll be drilling the perches to move the axle back an inch or so and there will be some more cutting to do to get the drag link to clear everything. I may end up looking for some yj's to see if it will get the axle backa little bit, but I may not have much driveshaft length to spare, so we will see.
I tell you it is a good feeling to finally see the axle under there
I'll get pics up as soon as Eric sends them to me

the shackles are just some that were sitting around, not the final product. ![[Linked Image]](http://paul.drac.org/3.jpg) seeing what eric's 35's look like on it ![[Linked Image]](http://paul.drac.org/4.jpg) still got lots of work to do
