well we got the axle under her!

after a few hours of very smooth work and things really coming together, I knew something had to go wrong. and of course Murphy came through.

the springs I got at the junkyard turned out to be too long, then I tried some waggy springs and my shackles were too long and I couldn't get a good angle. so we tried a few differnt length shackles and made a set of hybrid leaf packs using waggy mains and moved the rear hangars forward an inch. I'll use the shackles I have on the rear of my truck (~4.25") up front and the ones I made for the front (~5.5") on the rear and I should end up with good angles on both ends maybe not exactly how I wanted it to begin with, but it ought to work.

I should get the pics from Eric tomorrow, but it looks like I got about 5" of lift with the hybrid pack sprung over, which should work perfect with just a rear spring over, but my front axle is forward about 6" which looks a little funny since my fenders are trimmed back so far. I'll be drilling the perches to move the axle back an inch or so and there will be some more cutting to do to get the drag link to clear everything. I may end up looking for some yj's to see if it will get the axle backa little bit, but I may not have much driveshaft length to spare, so we will see.

I tell you it is a good feeling to finally see the axle under there

I'll get pics up as soon as Eric sends them to me
