IT'S ALIIIIIIVE
got the brakes working finally It's coming home tonight (it's a mile away from my place right now). I ought to have it wheeling shortly.
What's left...front driveshaft (have all the parts, just need to rig it all up), rear shocks (same deal, just need to figure out my mounts), finish grooving the one tire i've been putting off, mount those on the wheels, mount my wheel spacers, then it's just a little engine work to get her idling again and running smooth, break in the rear gears, then see it it all falls apart or not Oh and install the rear aussie (as soon as they come in).
I'm hoping to make it to URE before it closes, but if not I'll get some private land wheeling in this winter to work out the bugs.
:cart before horse: After tax time, if there's anything left of me, I'll be saving up for some D44 bling and some bigger tires and alloy wheels. I'll have to decide whether to go with teralows or a 2nd case or something eventually. Hope the 5.38's w/ 36's will do me ok until then.
Also mulling over what to do body/cage-wise. I think maybe boogering a truck-cab together and adding a tube flatbed might be cool...or leaving the body and doing an interior cage and attaining the 'raisined' look...or chopping the thing up Airtrooper style...who knows.
But anyway, i'll be happy once I can just putt around in it safely
