same thing happened to me( 6'4" as well) First get a extended cab if you can. much more room for us. That is what I did after about a year. But to hold you over... I bought 8" subs, I still have to sell but I had to make the boxes so they would fit. I did it wrong,(Fiberglass half a box) so my sug to you is fiberglass the back. I have alot of info saved on it so if you're intersted. the best that I used was a 600 watt 6x9 that ran off a sony 760w amp that I strapped with abungie cord right in front of the pass seat (bench). Pass. would complain a little but do they want a ride? hope that helps.

The best system for a standard cab, is to use subs in the doors and mid ranges and highs in the dash, all ran through an amp and x-over. Now you aren't going to get the teeth jarring base out of the door subs, but you will get decent all around sound, without having a sub pointed at your back, and driving with your nknees by your ears . Besides, any type of sub in a box in the 7" of space behind the seat wont sound much better given the limited amount of room the box will have. If you have to have the big base sound effects, install a shell, or 1/4 shell and put the big 12-18" subs back there.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

i have 5" speakers in the doors, 6x9 mounted in the factory location behind the seats... had to open up the holes to make em fit these are run off my deck... then i have a 10" sub in a box (box bought from walmart fit perfectly behind the seat) powered by a 400 watt amp... the system sounds good and has enough base to make everyone look from blocks away... Iv done enough systems to know that you don't need big to get good sound... oh and im 6, 2 so my seat is all the way back

When I had a reg. cab, I got some stock buckets to replace the bench seat, then put a 10" sub behind the passenger seat. I was able to fit a decent sized box behind the pass. seat, plus the seats were a lot more comfortable anyway.

although they dont sound as good as normal subs, i would try out a 10 or 12in bazooka tube. it would fit nice behind the seats, plus they are self powered. i got a 12 in mine and it works for me
94 Pickup DLX V6 stock as stock can be, but not for long.
